The Very Best of 2021

Hi friends!

Happy 2022! We did it! We made it! It's here! Another year in the books. Whether it was your best year ever or you're excited for the new year (or both!), it was definitely one to remember!

I wanted to do a little end-of-the-year wrap up with all of the things we loved that we'll definitely be taking into the new year! What I loved

This is the year when I really started taking my skincare more seriously. I'm at the wonderful cross section of acne and wrinkles and I wanted to experiment to find what products worked best for me. My favorite moisturizer is Tula's 24-7 moisture hydrating day & night cream. It is rich and hydrating, especially during dry and cold months. I use it twice a day after using Tula's the cult classic purifying face cleanser. This is by far my favorite cleanser of all time. I have a bottle at both my house, at my parents, my in laws, and in my travel bag! I started using Tula's antioxidant water purifying toner face mist because (arguably for the first time ever), it made toner easy to use for a lazy gal like me! I also use Tula's so polished exfoliating sugar scrub once every other day to keep my skin fresh. I find when I skip exfoliating, I am more prone to breakouts. As a reminder, I am a proud Tula glowbassador and you can get 15% off your order using code KYLEELAUREN. I also use Follain's Firm + Brighten eye cream every day. I find that it makes a huge difference in dry spots and cracked concealer under my eyes. I alternate serums every day with either using Follain's Brightening Vitamin C Boost for a pretty glow in the morning or Kiehl's Micro-Dose Anti-Aging Retinol Serum with Ceramides and Peptide at night. By far, the Kiehl's Retinol is the best I've ever tried. It helps firm your skin without drying. It's my holy grail product.

I try to do face masks at least twice a week and alternate between the Clarins V Facial Intensive Depuffing Mask (for depuffing after not enough sleep or too many drinks), Follain's Dual Detox Purify + Resurface (for combatting breakouts), and Tula's claydate detoxing & toning face mask stick (for redness and calming) and self-care sunday nourishing face mask (for brightening) depending on what I need most!

I also made it a habit to wear sunscreen everyday! My two favorites are Supergoop's Glow Oil SPF 50 for my face and Coola's Classic Body Organic Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 in Guava Mango for my body!

one: Plavogue One-Step Hair Dryer Brush | two: Wet Brush | three: Rollers | four: Strong Hold Matte Hair Claw Clips | five: Wet Brus | six: Batiste Volumizing Dry Shampoo | seven: BEACHWAVER® Pro 1 Dual Voltage | eight: Alligator Curl Clips | nine: | Simple Metal U Shaped Hairpins Hair When it comes to my hair, this category is full of old reliables. I've been using my BEACHWAVER® Pro 1 Dual Voltage curling iron for almost half a decade almost every day, almost as long as I've been using my Wet Brush! It's seriously the best curling iron I've ever used! I've also been using my Plavogue One-Step Hair Dryer Brush, rollers, and Alligator Curl Clips for at-home blowouts and it's been lifechanging!

I started using Batiste Volumizing Dry Shampoo before and after workouts to preserve my hair and love the finish it leaves on my hair. I also loved using the FREATECH Scalp Massager Shampoo Brush to wash my hair and have seen a huge difference in how long each wash lasts.

My favorite go to accessories have been Strong Hold Matte Hair Claw Clips and new finds, Simple Metal U Shaped Hairpins Hair which are SO chic and don't leave a dent in your hair!

I really embraced a less-is-more approach with makeup this year. I stuck by my tried and true favorite mascara, the Thrive Cosmetics Liquid Lash Extensions™ Mascara. It's the only mascara I ever use, is lengthening, and comes off like a dream. It's the BEST! I also loved using Too Faced Better Than Sex Easy Glide Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. It's the perfect eyeliner for a sharp cat eye.

Every day I use Tula's filter primer blurring & moisturizing primer (sheerly tinted). For high coverage foundation, I used Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Skin Finish Buildable Coverage Foundation Stick for most of the year. I recently started testing out the Beauty Blender Bounce™ Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation and I LOVE it! It's 50% off right now if you're interested in testing it out! For lower coverage days, I used the Thrive Cosmetics Buildable Blur CC Cream! It's so easy to use and covers like a dream!

I really embraced MERIT beauty this year and fell in love with their line! I loved their Flush Balm Cream Blush and Day Glow Highlighting Balm. I found that cream based products sat much better on my skin. I also loved the MERIT The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer Stick and got it in two shades for concealer and contour.

Finally, I loved using a ton of Too Faced products for my brows. I'd start with BROWVO! Conditioning Eyebrow Primer, then fill in with their Super Fine Brow Detailer Pencil, and hold it in place with the Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel.

Then, I'd set my face with Too Faced Hangover 3-In-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray and be on my way!

one: Daily Concepts Daily Detox Massage Brush | two: CeraVe SA Lotion for Rough & Bumpy Skin | three: CeraVe Body Wash with Salicylic Acid | four: St. Tropez Self Tan Dark Bronzing Mousse | five: LUV SCRUB Mesh Body Exfolliator A habit I'm trying to take into 2022 with me is working on being kinder to my body. This year, I really tried to focus on figuring out the habits that made me feel better all around.

That definitely included my Peloton subscription. By far, it was the #1 proponent of my mental health this year. Whether it was a 10 minute or 60 minute class, I found my headspace was always better after a workout. After years of dealing with Kilatosis Pilaris, I was finally able to get it under control by using a LUV SCRUB Mesh Body Exfolliator with CeraVe Body Wash with Salicylic Acid and CeraVe SA Lotion for Rough & Bumpy Skin on top.

After almost every shower, I use a Daily Concepts Daily Detox Massage Brush to keep my skin smooth and loved using St. Tropez Self Tan Dark Bronzing Mousse to keep a year round glow!

one: Lustered Coupe Glasses | two: Marble & Brass Bee Cocktail Picks | three: Marble Honeycomb Coasters | four: Deluxe Double Lid Classic Wicker Picnic Basket with Insulated Cooler Bag, Includes Silverware, Glasses and Accessories | five: Our Place Always Pan | six: Kitchen Aid We spent a lot of time in our apartment this year and I personally spent a lot more time in our kitchen. I've always been someone that LOVES to bake, but cooking was never my thing. However, this year, I fell in love with The New York Times Cooking App. I love browsing the site to flag new recipes that I love and want to test out. Just this week alone, I made 7 brand new recipes! It's seriously great! My two bff's in the kitchen are my Kitchen Aid and the Our Place Always Pan. I use the Kitchen Aid at least three times a week and the Always pan once a day! It's the easiest pan to clean and makes cooking a breeze. Outside of the kitchen, I embraced my love for making cocktails at home. I loved these Marble Honeycomb Coasters and Marble & Brass Bee Cocktail Picks to spice up my cocktails. I also fell in love with these gorgeous Lustered Coupe Glasses that make every cocktail feel even more fancy.

one: Sleeveless Exercise Tennis Dress | two: Ugg Coquette Slippers | three: Lululemon Wunder Under High-Rise Tight | four: Levi's Mile High Skinny Jeans | five: Spanx Faux Patent Leather Leggings | six: Basic Mock Neck | seven: Lulu's Dorothea Gold Knotted High Heel Sandals | eight: Emmaline Platform Heeled Boot | nine: Betsey Johnson Women's Cady Evening Booties | ten: Spanx OnCore High-Waisted Mid-Thigh Short When it comes to clothing, I definitely loved sticking to some of my classic staples. For at home lounging, I love my Lululemon Wunder Under High-Rise Tight for every day wear with my Ugg Coquette Slippers. I just bought my second pair this year! I'm rarely without them! For slightly more formal wear, I loved wearing my Spanx Faux Patent Leather Leggings or Levi's Mile High Skinny Jeans with a comfy sweater or tshirt for an easy outfit. The Amazon Sleeveless Exercise Tennis Dress is the perfect easy outfit for the summer and running errands. I recently fell in love with this Basic Mock Neck for chic and easy winter outfits. I wore my Spanx OnCore High-Waisted Mid-Thigh Short under basically everything!

This was definitely the year of fun shoes for me. I loved the retro feel of the Emmaline Platform Heeled Boot. The Betsey Johnson Women's Cady Evening Booties were always ready for a party. Plus, you and I both loved the Lulu's Dorothea Gold Knotted High Heel Sandals! They were my second most popular item this year!
